THE MIRACLE OF ENGLAND
There are some things quite unbeleivable in this world, the stuff of dreams. Many of these things exist in football.
I remember Frank Lampard in 2010 saying that he wanted to win the premier league before retiring I laughed long and hard because with the trajectory that chelsea were headed, they werent close to winning it. They had just been knocked out by inter milan and didnt look like european superpowers.
Fast forward 2 years and in 2012 against all expectations, chelsea beat overwhelming favourites Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena to win.
But in any realm, in any world, what leicester have done is simoly unbeleivable! fought their way out of relegation on the penultimate day of last season after jumping out of the bottom courtesy of 7 wins in their last 10 before putting out one of the most stunning seasons we have ever swwn to win the premier league the very next season.
It started well, a win in their first match wasnt the stuff that starts such beleives but Mahrez put on such a show thatday thaat the whole english fans took notice. It wasnt going to last they said and gradually, pressure creeped in and the traditional heavyweigths arsenal, mancity, manutd and tottenham each brushed face with the top but then the pressure wasnt hard enough to sink them, while the leaders most especially arsenal lost their footing, leicester didnt.
fixtures toughened, mancity and arsenal in consecutive games was the kind of pressure that kills minnows but after dismantling mancity, theylost narrowly to arsenal after playing with 10 men.
They stood the test of time and changed from the swahbucking attack always to a swift counter attacking with a much tighter defence and a flurry of 1-0 wins, something that defines champions and it was what defined them...playing to their strengths and being able to adjust to any situation
