SELECTING THE BEST TEAM: BOTS VS EXPERTS TEAM OF GAMEWEEK 1.

Image
Good evening and welcome to the continuation of our series. Choosing a team for a game week can be hard. Sentiments and personal preferences can cloud ones judgement. There have been many FPL sites that try to predict the team for the week but there is usually a large discrepancy. My plan in doing this article is to compare human analysis (totw from experts on different sites) to AI analysis (totw from bots on different sites). Now these sites are expected to churn out different teams every week irrespective of transfer limitations. The difference is that the experts bring their teams based on strict FPL formation and price while the bots simply bring out the best set of players from their algorithm projections. For this study, I'll be using 8* sites. 4 have bots (fantasy football fix, first, overlord and assist) while 4 are human experts (fantasy football scout, fpl academy, thefpl blog and the official fantasy app scout). The team of the week is entered into my F...

PREPARING FOR THE DOUBLE GAMEWEEKS WITH WILDCARD IN MIND

Image
With the announcement of the rescheduled games for gameweeks 36 and 37 and the earlier announcement for dgw34, many managers have gone full ANALYSIS on getting the best way to maximize the dgws by stocking up on the best players for the next 3 weeks then wildcarding in gw36 to prepare for the last 2 dgw.. From experience and study, the best plan is to divide the remaining 6 gameweeks into 2 boxes for managers with wildcard. It’s my advice (and popular choice) to wildcard in gw36 to enjoy the second dgw(36) and plan to bring in max players for dgw37. With benchboost or not, this is a superb plan as you can take advantage of the short term fixtures. This analysis will take two forms: FIXTURE ANALYSIS (where I look at the fixtures of all teams for the next 3 weeks and PREDICTED POINTS SCORERS ( where I use the 3 most popular bot site to get the projected best players for the next 3 weeks) Finally, I’ll be giving a differential article where we look at players with ownershi...

TRANSFER MARKET ANALYSIS: THE GOOD, BAD AND THE UNDECIDED

Image
Good morning and welcome to this week’s edition of this series I would be doing hopefully till the end of the season. I call it the transfer market analysis; the good, bad and the undecided. Here I look at the top 5 transferred in and out players at the end of the last day of game week matches and TRY to work out if it will be a hit or miss. Those who I feel don’t clearly fall into any category fall into the undecided group. Ill also be giving my reasons for calling it/them hits or misses and we can check out how wrong or right I was at the end of the week. The table for the TRANSFERS IN is shown below. Expectedly from the top,  COUTINHO tops our transfers in for the week after returning a goal and assist in the merseyside derby. His return to form coincided with the loss of mane and with a home fixture against Bournemouth up next and no hard fixture in next 3, he looked like the sure replacement. The caveat tho is his seeming inconsistency with hauls seemi...

Ill also be giving my reasons for calling it/them hits or misses and we can check out how wrong or right I was at the end of the week. The table for the TRANSFERS IN is shown below. Surprisingly, four of the top 5 transferred in this week are away in their next EPL fixture and 3 of them play in the FA cup at the weekend. Alli’s 49,244 new owners have put him at the top of the list. Form and fixture combine to justify this decision as alli seems unstoppable and sunderland look like willing opponents. He was part of the top transfers last...

TRANSFER MARKET ANALYSIS: THE GOOD, BAD AND THE UNDECIDED

Good morning and welcome to a new series I would be doing hopefully till the end of the season. I call it the transfer market analysis; the good, bad and the undecided. Ill also be giving my reasons for calling it/them hits or misses and we can check out how wrong or right I was at the end of the week. The table for the TRANSFERS IN is shown below. Top 5 transferred in with the tabular analysis Kane tops the transfers in chat with 94,976 in and has undergone a price rise but despite scoring a hat trick in his last game, he wasn’t previously much on form and faces a hard fixture next according to the ticker * so despite it feeling like a success, I’m still undecided on that one. Lukaku is a complete good! Form and fixtur...

FFFIRST had returns for 2/3 of their goalkeeper picks, 4/5 of their defence picks, 5/7 of their midfield picks and 3/5 of their forward picks giving a 14/20 or 70% correlation rate. FFFIX came in with a perfect 3/3 on the goal keepers, 4/5 on defenders, 5/7 on midfielders and 3/5 on forwards to give a marginally better

BOTS VS EXPERTS: SELECTING THE BEST TEAM FOR THE GAME WEEK 21

Image
Good morning and welcome to the continuation of our series. I want to apologize for the hiatus, the Christmas break was a busy time with game weeks coming in thick and fast and sites updating late plus I had to travel for family re-union and was faced with very poor network coverage. Also this week’s piece came relatively late and ill like to apologize. Hope you find this useful. Choosing a team for a game week can be hard. Sentiments and personal preferences can cloud ones judgement. There have been many FPL sites that try to predict the team for the week but there is usually a large discrepancy. FIXTURE ANALYSIS IN PICKING YOUR ATTACK

Okay, it isn't new knowledge that the 2016/17 fantasy premier league site is live. Now the hard part of picking a nice 15 man squad begins. for those who haven't played the game before, give it a try at  fantasy premier league  and you will be in for a super exciting premier league season. For the newbies, you have to pick a squad of 15 players where 11 will start and 4 including a goalie will be on the bench. How to pick your squad With £100 available, you have to be very careful as you will have only one   free   transfer per week once the season starts. The Attackers These are an interesting bunch because unlike the defenders, team coverage might not actually be enough and the prices are spread over a wide range. Also it is most likely that your captains will be coming from here. If you have spent about £10 for your goalies and £25 for your defence (generally accepted limit) then you will be left with £65 to get 8 attackers (midfielders and ...

ROTATION ANALYSIS IN BUILDING YOUR DEFENCE

After our discussion on Goalie and defender selection strategies, its time to look at the rotation analysis. GOALKEEPERS 1. 2 way fixture rotators. Like I specified, there are two ways to look at this. Selecting strictly based on home/away fixtures (this reduces selection headaches) or choosing “easier” fixtues. Home/Away rotators are easier to find as they are designed by the premier league for policing or tv reasons. Remember we are focusing on rotations with no goalie costing more than £5.0 so you won’t be seeing the popular Manutd/Mancity or Arsenal/totenham rotation. Burnley/WBA (£4.5-£4.5 and gameweeks 1-19) Sun, Eve, Mboro, Hull, Wham, Wat, Ars, Spurs, Eve, Mancity, Cpalace, Burnley, Mancity, Watford, Bou, Swa, Manutd, Mboro, Sun. Crystalpalace/Swansea (£4.5-£5.0 and gameweeks 1-19) WBA, hull, Bou, Che, Stoke, Mancity, Liv, Wham, Wat, Liv, Burn, Mancity, Cpalace, Shampton, Swa, Manutd, Che, Wham, Bou. Leicester/Middlesborough (£5.0 - £4.5 and gamewee...

Fantasy Premier League- How to pick your squad - GOALKEEPERS

How to pick your squad With £100 available, you have to be very careful  as you will have only one free transfer per week once the season starts. The goalkeepers There are many ways to pick the goalkeepers. the most expensive goalkeepers cost £5.5 (Courtois, ddg, cech, hart, lloris) then there are 5.0(Robles of Everton, Kalas/Mignolet of liverpool, Schmeicel of leicester, forster, butland, fabianski, adrian) then the rest are 4.5. The only starting keeper at 4.0 is jakupovic of hull who has an injured first choice. 1. The fixture rotators. These are usual...

CHRISTIANO RONALDO IS A LIVING LEGEND!!

Image
There are few players that have won it all from club to country. fewer to have been at the top of their game for so long and fewer still to rise from gloom. on sunday, in captaining his team to euro glory, ronaldo added the long sought for country trophy to his countless club accolades and his personal award shows that he wasnt just a spectator in france! poor in the first game, frustrated in the second, he scored two goals in the third to take his team from the brink of elimination to the round of 16 as one of the best loosers. A drab 1-0 win in the quarter finals had skeptics talking of their chances against a fluid poland side but despite going behind early and still having never won a game in 90 mins, they excelled to the semi finals where ronado bested madrid teammate and welsh star Bale with a goal and assist to send his team all the way to the finals. less than 30 Minutes in and his night was over, a collision with french midfielder Payet sent him to the floor and he n...
