TRANSFER MARKET ANALYSIS: THE GOOD, BAD AND THE UNDECIDED
Good morning and welcome to this week’s edition of this
series I would be doing hopefully till the end of the season.
I call it the transfer market analysis; the good, bad and
the undecided. Here I look at the top 5 transferred in and out players at the
end of the last day of game week matches and TRY to work out if it will be a hit or miss. Those who I feel don’t
clearly fall into any category fall into the undecided group.
Ill also be giving my reasons for calling it/them hits or
misses and we can check out how wrong or right I was at the end of the week.
The table for the TRANSFERS
IN is shown below.
Expectedly from the top, COUTINHO tops our
transfers in for the week after returning a goal and assist in the merseyside
derby. His return to form coincided with the loss of mane and with a home fixture
against Bournemouth up next and no hard fixture in next 3, he looked like the
sure replacement. The caveat tho is his seeming inconsistency with hauls
seemingly deserted by blanks. One thing to note though is the lack of double
gameweek fixture which has left the jury UNDECIDED
for now.
At the end of February,
palace looked like sure relegation
candidates but then Allardyce worked his magic and after returning a goal and
assist on international break, ZAHA followed
it up with a repeat against league leaders Chelsea. That form and his cheap
price sees him a good replacement for king, siggy sellers and the dgw in 34
makes it a GOOD transfer.
The VARDY party
is in full flow. Consistent returns since the change of manager and steady
price rise, a vardy train is one not to be missed. His return when lukaku and
costa let managers down means his fixture against Sunderland is earmarked as a
potential captain haul. A dgw down the line confirms the GOOD call.
There is no stopping ALLI.
Consistent returns even in kanes absence and the best fixture set on the
land makes him almost a must have for those not yet owning. The addition of
spot kicks only confirms his GOOD ranking
and moves him above eriksen as the spurs midfielder to own.
Big old IBRAHIMOVIC might
have missed the last two league games but it only gives us reason to think he
will be back fresh and roaring to go against a depleted everton defense. His form
before the ban might not have been lit but with two dgw set to come, if he isn’t
a sure buy now, he is one to look out for soon.
The obvious leader, MANEs
transfers out is completely justified. After failing to return in the previous
2, he scored then got injured at the moment where managers where preparing
their squads for the dgw. A lack of it meant there was no reason to keep and
the over 100,000 managers that have sold have caused a price fall that might
reoccur again before tomorrow’s deadline. A GOOD transfer clearly.
Once a favourite, COLEMANs
injury in an international friendly means he is ruled out of the season. With Valencia,
davies, betrand, mcauley returning points at a cheaper price and with dgw to
hold on to, there is no reason not to move towards better options.
Our man COSTA might
have been unlucky not to have scored but what managers will see is 2 points
returned in the last 2 games and a fixture against man city up next. His injury
scare has not been helping and with ibrahimovic back and vardy, firing, I think
it’s a GOOD call.
No form, poor fixtures, injury risk, no dgw, there is no
shortage of reasons to justify LLORENTE
sale as a GOOD call. Add carol performing
and origin likely to get a run and it becomes overwhelmingly clear.
Its still surprising that an active manager still has LALLANA. The only player to have featured
up to 4 times in the top transfers out table. No returns in about 8 weeks,
injured, no dgw, its quite obvious that this is a sell! Sell! Sell! I think
even Lallana must have sold himself on his fantasy team.
That’s it. Remember, reasons stated here can change and the
writer isn’t trying to discourage any buyers or sellers but trying to check out
the timing of the transfers. As always, your input is highly welcomed.
