BOTS VS EXPERTS: PREDICTING THE BEST TEAM FOR GW35

Image
Good evening and welcome to the continuation of our series. Choosing a team for a game week can be hard. Sentiments and personal preferences can cloud ones judgement. There have been many FPL sites that try to predict the team for the week but there is usually a large discrepancy. My plan in doing this article is to compare human analysis (totw from experts on different sites) to AI analysis (totw from bots on different sites). Now these sites are expected to churn out different teams every week irrespective of transfer limitations. The difference is that the experts bring their teams based on strict FPL formation and price while the bots simply bring out the best set of players from their algorithm projections. For this study, I'll be using 8* sites. 4 have bots (fantasy football fix, first, overlord and assist) while 4 are human experts (fantasy football scout, fpl academy, thefpl blog and the official fantasy app scout). The team of the week is entered into my F

Good day and welcome to the review of our bots vs experts’ article.  These review(s) will help us determine if the bots options are preferable to the experts or if human judgement trumps their call. It will also help us keep track of the performance of these sites over the course of the season. The previewing article can be found here   for cross checking. Thanks.

PREPARING FOR THE DOUBLE GAMEWEEKS WITH WILDCARD IN MIND

Image
With the announcement of the rescheduled games for gameweeks 36 and 37 and the earlier announcement for dgw34, many managers have gone full ANALYSIS on getting the best way to maximize the dgws by stocking up on the best players for the next 3 weeks then wildcarding in gw36 to prepare for the last 2 dgw.. From experience and study, the best plan is to divide the remaining 6 gameweeks into 2 boxes for managers with wildcard. It’s my advice (and popular choice) to wildcard in gw36 to enjoy the second dgw(36) and plan to bring in max players for dgw37. With benchboost or not, this is a superb plan as you can take advantage of the short term fixtures. This analysis will take two forms: FIXTURE ANALYSIS (where I look at the fixtures of all teams for the next 3 weeks and PREDICTED POINTS SCORERS ( where I use the 3 most popular bot site to get the projected best players for the next 3 weeks) Finally, I’ll be giving a differential article where we look at players with ownershi

TRANSFER MARKET ANALYSIS: THE GOOD, BAD AND THE UNDECIDED

Image
Good morning and welcome to this week’s edition of this series I would be doing hopefully till the end of the season. I call it the transfer market analysis; the good, bad and the undecided. Here I look at the top 5 transferred in and out players at the end of the last day of game week matches and TRY to work out if it will be a hit or miss. Those who I feel don’t clearly fall into any category fall into the undecided group. Ill also be giving my reasons for calling it/them hits or misses and we can check out how wrong or right I was at the end of the week. The table for the TRANSFERS IN is shown below. Expectedly from the top,  COUTINHO tops our transfers in for the week after returning a goal and assist in the merseyside derby. His return to form coincided with the loss of mane and with a home fixture against Bournemouth up next and no hard fixture in next 3, he looked like the sure replacement. The caveat tho is his seeming inconsistency with hauls seemingly
