FPL ATTACK DILEMA

Image
Back?? or a flash?? Another weekend, another FPL headache. This time the attack problem starts from LUKAKU vs KANE. Both players are proven goal scorers and are most likely competing for a place in our attack. Its a really hard pick. LUKAKU has done OK given the tough fixtures he has faced but its worth noting that he blanked vs mancity, arsenal, manutd, swansea and liverpool which means he can rarely be trusted. KANE on the other hand has had mixed fixtures but has unfortunately scored in 2 games only which were won by huge margins but one was against mancity so he isnt really a big game choker as weve seen from lukaku.

DEGEA TRANSFER SAGA: WINNERS AND LOOSERS

Image
It seemed like a match made in heaven; local hero David degea was set to return to madrid at a price cheaper than anyone would have imagined after holding on for so long.. All was set apparently except the necessary papers for the transfer! Claims and counter claims were thrown when it was announced that davids papers did not get to the RFEF on time for him to be registered. All plans seemed shattered! a new transfer window seemed like eternity but 2 months in, we look at the biggest winners and loosers from the saga. HEROR NAVAS

LA LIGA WEEKEND REVIEW

Image
It was a weekend of two hattricks as Luis suarez on sunday matched Kevin Gamieros hattrick on saturday. celebrated 1 year in lagiga with a hatrick Kevin Gameiro scored a hat-trick as Sevilla thrashed Getafe 5-0 for a much-needed La Liga win on Saturday. Unai Emery's men netted three times from the penalty spot, including once through Gameiro, for just their third win in nine league games this campaign. Ever Banega and Yevhen Konoplyanka were also on target from 12 yards at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. Defender Carlos Vigaray was sent off for Getafe on the hour-mark after picking up yellow cards for two of the penalty incidents. The win lifts Sevilla into ninth in the table, while Getafe are 12th after their fifth loss.

CHELSEA: LOOSING AND LACKING!!

Image
When You win the English premier league title and you have a "special" coach who aims to build a dynasty, you should be confident and proud going forward. So were chelsea fans during the season and they were justified, despite being labelled defensive, or said to "park the bus", they produced some superb attacking results: hitting everton for 6 is a good example. They showed zeal! in Diego costa, mourinho had found his image on the pitch : pressing, challenging, fouling, restless but calm when faced with the big task...finishing. Raking in 10 goals before anyone else to pick his first EPL goal award.

FPL GW10 3WEEK PLAYER WATCH - MIDFIELDERS

Image
Here comes our updated list of best midfielders to look out for the next 3 gameweeks based on form and fixtures: ALEXIS SANCHEZ (11.4) tops our list. The world class Arsenal midfielder has finally shown his form with 6 goals in the last 3 games.  Great underlying stats and showing he is a proven FPL player after last season’s great debut at an FPL point every 14.2 minutes.  Despite blanking against bayern, and being very expensive, he will have chances with upcoming fixtures. MESSI DROPS OUT: STAR OFF FORBES RANKING

Image
Rory McIlroy and Mayweather entered the top 10 but Barcelona forward Lionel Messi is no longer among the top 10 most valuable athletes in the world, according to American finance publication Forbes. Messi previously occupied ninth position in 2014 with an estimated worth of $12 million - a drop of one million from the previous year - but does not feature at all in the athletes' top 10 for 2015. Rory McIlroy and Floyd Mayweather Jr instead enter the top 10 with the undefeated boxing champion having signed several lucrative endorsements before his July fight with Manny Pacquiao. Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, who was seventh a year ago, has also suffered a drop in the rankings and has now moved down to eighth despite releasing a new clothing range. La Liga rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona had occupied second and third spot in 2014 but have slipped to fifth and seventh respectively, with Manchester United and Bayern Munich also making the top 10. FPL GW10, 3WEEK PLAYER WATCH - DEFENCE

Image
Continuing on our earlier post, here is a list of defenders that you may need to buy or are wirth holding on to for the next 3 gameweeks . Newcastle's DARYL JANMAAT, who managed to register an assist in the Magpies 6-2 victory against Norwich tops our list. The 4.9-priced Dutch international leads all defenders for goal attempts over the last six Gameweeks with nine, while he’s also created six chances over the same period. With the smooth fixtures (sun, STO, bou), there’s little doubt Janmaat is capable of producing defensive and attacking points for his 2% ownership.

FPL GW10 3WEEK PLAYER WATCH - GOALKEEPERS

Image
Good morning everyone, this is for those Fantasy premier league managers who are looking for the hitters for the coming weeks. Here is a list of the best choice goalkeepers for your team up till GW12. POINTLAND...adding cleansheets to saves With back-to-back clean sheets, Stoke’s JACK BUTLAND is at the summit this week. The 4.5-priced England international has also made more saves (39) than any other keeper in the top flight, and, with the upcoming fixtures for the Potters (WAT, new, CHE), ultimately represents very good value for Fantasy managers. Also on our radar this week is Tottenham’s HUGO LLORIS (5.0) , who has quietly been enjoying a strong season, notching 38 points in FPL from just eight appearances. Spurs face two very favourable match-ups (bou, AVL) over the next two Gameweeks, and these will enhance his chances of adding to his 4 shut outs this season before visiting arsenal. DAVID DE GEA and Man utd defence are improving after Man United’s convincing 3-0 win at

BASTIAN SUES CHINESE COMPANY FOR IMAGE ABUSE

Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger is planning on suing a chinese company for using his name and image for production of dolls. Bastian and Bastian..an obvious resemblance In what may seem a clear case of image exploitation, the company in question produced and marketed a German toy soldier named Bastian (right), bearing remarkable resemblance to the player (left)

RACE TO THE BALON D'OR PODIUM

Image
For all the complaints over how closed the title races of modern football have become, competitions such as the Premier League and La Liga are practically wide open to all-comers in comparison to the annual battle to be named the best footballer in the world. Historic seasons by a treble-winning Wesley Sneijder in 2009, Germany’s World Cup claiming, sweeper-keeper extraordinaire Manuel Neuer in 2014 and Franck Ribery, whose irresistible wing-play also inspired his club-mates to a treble in 2013, were not enough to overcome the incumbents who have swapped the honour since 2008. Football may still thrive on Bill Shankly’s famous maxim of “if you are first you are first, if you are second you are nothing”, but for once there’s no shame in coming third, not in an era dominated by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo anyway. A seemingly unbreakable duopoly

Overweight players in EPL by BMI

Image
There are fat guys and there are huge guys and there are just stunt or bulky guy but Any BMI over 25 means that the person in question should 'think about' losing weight, and there are 26 players who have made at least one appearance this season who fit into that category. Going through them all one-by-one would take forever, so we're going to cherry-pick. List courtesy of the Mirror.

REFEREE CLAIMS HE WAS TOLD TO FAVOUR REAL MADRID IN EL CLASSICO

Image
Spanish police are investigating claims an assistant referee has had pressure put on him to give decisions in favour of Real Madrid in the upcoming Clasico against Barcelona on November 21. El controversy Radio station Cadena COPE have leaked a document presented to the police by Jacinto Vicente Hernandez, a lawyer who specialises in sports. The six-page long document details how an official, who wants to remain unnamed for professional reasons, was asked to make calls which would benefit Madrid in Spanish football’s showpiece next month.

BELGIUM: A GRADUAL BUT DESERVED RISE TO THE TOP

Image
Just 6 years ago, Belgium were ranked 66 in the world according to FIFA but at the latest FIFA ranking, they have been rated as the best team in the world. Belgium: a well knitted unit Admitted, people may have issues with the way FIFA conducts its rankings but personally after looking through the algorithms, i do not think there us a better way of ranking teams. The question is, how did they acheive it? Many teams have gotten to the top using different means: Spain, top of the world between 2008 and 2014 bar few months changes built on the superb tiki taka perfected by Barcelona famed academy and carried out perfectly by their coach and players. A system that ocer time ruled from the youth squads to the senior squads. Controlling and dominating games with sleek passing and cool movements until their recent capitulation after the aging of midfield maestro Xavi Hernandez.

FPL PLAYER PUN FILLED ADVICE

Image
FPL pun filled advice We’re a few weeks into Fantasy Premier League now, the big names aren’t quite hitting the mark yet, so it’s easy to lose faith in your team. I have some (pun-filled) thoughts and advice whilst the international break is on… A KRUL blow for newcastle Fantasy Premier League can be a KRUL game. We all recruited big expensive stars into our teams that aren’t GRABBAN as many points as we thought they would. Chelsea’s defence have looked unusually HAZARDous and Rooney has looked sluggish like he’s been eating all DEPAYs (as the chant goes).

TEAMS THAT HAVE QUALIFIED FOR EURO 2016 PART 1

Image

Their place was secured after they won hosting rights for the tournament. Euro Pedigree: Won last in 2000 against italy. They reached the last 8 in 2012 before loosing to eventual winners Spain.

NIGERIA: THE LIVERPOOL OF NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAMS

Image
Awkward comparism right? well to an extent yes but with reference to my point, they are the liverpool of national teams. First of, like liverpool, Nigeria are still a big team (at least in africa), they are expected to always perform but like liverpool, they rarely do. I was tempted to compare their inconsistency with arsenal but i realized that arsenal are in better shape: an organised coach with a clear tactical plan, a functioning youth to senior team transfer system, regular champions league football to back it up and positive balance at the end of the football year. New coaches...again Not my dear Nigeria...naaa. Regular coach changing (from lagerback in 2010 to siasia in 2011 to keshi in 2012 to oliseh in 2015) compares to liverpool (hodgson in 2010 to king kenny in 2011 to rodgers in 2012 to klopp in 2015). Similar right, yeah. Now you are getting my drive.

FPL WEEKEND PREVIEW

CRY vs. WBA – Palace is primarily set up to attack, and this they would do against a WBA team that even though boast 4 clean sheets this season, have conceded 6 goals in their last two matches – poor for a Pulis team. However, this CRY’s gung-ho attack system leaves exploitable space at the back for attackers with pace. Consequently, CRY’s only clean sheet this season came in their last match against WAT, who are largely defensive. I see WBA’s pacey counter attack led by Berahino causing havoc against a CRY defense that has conceded more shots in the box (72) outside the box (59) and headed attempts (23) than any other team in the league, awful. Watchlist (goals/ shots): CRY – Sako 2/13; Cabaye 2/8; Puncheon 2 assists. WBA – Morrison 2/10 and 2 assists; Berahino 2/5. predictionm: 2-0 AVL vs. STK – Gestede can head the ball. I have said this for the last two weeks and every time I say it Gestede scores with his head, last time was against LIV with Skrtel on the pitch! In
