CHAMPIONS LEAGUE RECORDS NOT HELD BY MESSI OR RONALDO

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have scored twice in Champions League finals. Alfredo Di Stefano and Ferenc Puskas (both Real Madrid) hold the record with seven goals in finals.

Di Stefano also holds the record for most finals in which a player has scored: five (1956, 1957, 1958, 1959 and 1960)

Ferenc Puskas holds the record for most goals scored in a single European Cup final having netted four in Real Madrid's 7-3 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in 1960.

Meanwhile, a few players share the record (two) for most goals scored in a single Champions League final: Daniele Massaro (AC Milan, 1994), Karl-Heinz Riedle (Borussia Dortmund, 1997), Hernan Crespo (Milan, 2005), Filippo Inzaghi (AC Milan, 2007), Diego Milito (Inter, 2010)

Raul still holds the record for most Champions League group stage goals. He scored 53 during his playing days for Real Madrid and Schalke, compared to Messi's current total of 44 and Ronaldo's current total of 41.

Most European Cup/Champions League quarterfinal goals? Di Stefano (14), while Ronaldo has 12 and Messi has 10. Most European Cup/Champions League semi-final goals? Alfredo Di Stefano (11), while Ronaldo has eight and Messi has four.

Cristiano Ronaldo is unique in having scored in Champions League finals for two different winning sides. However, the player who has won the competition with the most teams is Clarence Seedorf - Ajax in 1995, Real Madrid in 1998, Milan in 2003 and 2007.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has scored in the Champions League for seven teams (Ajax, Juventus, Inter, Barcelona, Milan and Paris Saint-Germain), more than anyone else.

The oldest goal scorer in the competition is Francesco Totti (38 years, 59 days) when Roma played CSKA Moscow last season. To become the European Cup/Champions League's oldest goal scorer, Ronaldo would have to hit the target after Nov. 22, 2023, and Messi after April 13, 2026.

The fastest-ever Champions League goal was scored by Roy Makaay in 10.12 seconds. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi needed four minutes to get on the scoresheet for their fastest efforts.

The fastest hat trick was scored by Bafetimbi Gomis in an eight-minute period in Lyon's group stage clash with Dinamo Zagreb.

Most goals scored in successive Champions League seasons: Raul (14). Most goals scored in Champions League seasons altogether: Ryan Giggs (16).

Cristiano Ronaldo ended season 2013-14 with 17 goals, but the record for most goals in a single season of any European football is held by Radamel Falcao. He scored 18 times for Porto in 2010-11's Europa League..
