looking at the list makes for exciting reading. i would like to see the citeria with which these names were called.
TROPHY WON?? and none of cesc fabregas, busquets, terstegen, pique, alba, buffon, verrati, cahill, terry, lahm were included??
how did only 5 defenders make the cut??
LEAGUE PEDIGREE? and massimo luongo from swindon is there??
im trying to imagine how unbelievable good christian atsu was to be in that list ahead of david Silva. The same guy that neither held a place in everton or is holding in bournemouth?? he may have performed well in AFCON, yes but what else??
The two best keepers in the champions league by performances and cleansheet were buffon and terstegen and they failed to make the cut while our darling ospina who is being benched by 33 year old ex chelsea bench warmer peter cech is included.
Phillip lahm! anyone?? alba has been one of the best left backs around but despite helping barca to the quadruple is left out.
John Terry and his partner missed out despite terry having played EVERY MINUTE of chelsea league campaign, lifting the trophy and being in the epl team of the tournament!
chile were superb in the copa america so?? lets include alk their players then including the ridiculus Medel who got cavani sent off.
Seriously apart from going to the afcon, what did bony do all season?? play second fiddle and being beaten to it by dzeko?? even iheanacho has scored in d epl this season ahead of him??
Then there is Mesut Ozil and angel di maria...they somegow exempted the top 4 assist makers in the premier league...lo9lz
where then are the representatives from the CAF champions league, the asian champions league? none?? somebody? anybody?
Well, we know that many of these people will not make the 23 but it seems like FIFA picked their 23 and started adding their favourite guys.
I can make a list of 11 veritable players that did not make the cut with 7 substitutes.
BUFFON; LAHM, PIQUE, TERRY, ALBA; BUSQUETS, VERRATI; SILVA, REUS, DIMARIA; HIGUAIN
BENCH
TERSTEGEN; ZABALETA, CAHILL; ALONSO, GOTZE; LUKAKU, OZIL
lemme not vex too much, lemme see the 23 though..then ill vex
